just call me lil flipper…

hey y’all. wanted to jump on and give you some updates from the week.

i had my second round of enhertu yesterday. so far so good. the first round went ok as well. minor issues, serious fatigue kicked in on day 3 & 4. and i had one nosebleed that took a good while to stop. this week’s labs revealed anemia so in additon to enhertu i had an iron infusion and my doctor suggested i start taking prenatal vitamins. for the nosebleed i have to use saline spray and a gel or vaseline to keep the passageways moist. my potassium is also low so i also need to increase my banana and orange intake.

towards the end of last week i felt some lumps in my left breast. i wasn’t sure if it was scar tissue or my skin still having some after effects from radiation but i reached out to plastics and let them know. they were able to get me an appointment this week before my pre-chemo labs. turns out — and this is definitely very on brand for me — my damned tissue expander has detached and flipped.

my doctor said although its not common, it does happen, and mostly in patients like me that will have their expanders in for a more lengthy time before reconstruction. but, since i am done with radiation, he’s not too concerned. the bumps that i feel are the spots on the expander that hold the tabs. there are raised bumps in the tabs where they attach to the expander. i realized i never showed you what the expanders actually look like so i snapped some pics for you guys.

i think that’s all my updates for now. nope, i forgot i started a med expense tracker for the year. it is outrageous already.

fin.
