dr. cynthia ann pfeifer-hill.

may 13, 1963 – february 14, 2024.

Dr. Cynthia Ann Pfeifer-Hill passed away with valor and grace over a tough ‘battle’ on February 14th, 2024, in Katy TX. She was widow of Dr. Loyd V Hill. Cindy (aka Tweety Bird) was born on May 13, 1963, in Seattle, Washington to Bobette A. (Buchanan) Pfeifer and Norman R. Pfeifer.

Cindy grew up in Murrysville, PA. In secondary school she pursued interests in running cross-country, playing violin, and creating pen & ink drawings of animals and more. Her love of animals (particularly dogs) was fostered by volunteering at the local Vet Clinic. She achieved her BS of Biochemistry from Penn State University and her PhD of Veterinary Physiology and Pharmacology from Purdue University. After performing research fellowships at Universities of Pittsburgh and New Mexico State, she dedicated to her passion to teach at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. Starting in 1995, over 24 years she held many roles of distinction (Dean, Department Chair, winner of Dr Anna B Fisher Endowed Biology Chair and more), none more important than ‘Professor’ to her many beloved students.

Cindy attended and served an elder at Alva OK’s First Presbyterian Church, and then served at New Hope Presbyterian Church in Katy, TX. Cindy enjoyed works in the Community, her Faith, Heartland Best Robotics, AAUW, MD Anderson Support Groups, School Programs of her Niece & Nephew, MDA Book Club and many more. She adored cooking and baking family recipes with her niece, Josey and had a blast building legos, playing countless boardgames with Joseph, her nephew.
She always dressed up as a Mad Scientist for our halloween parties. Her leisure activities and hobbies were helping others, travel, movies, baking, books, and a great big meal with family & friends. Those who knew Cindy, experienced her love, support, and likely many gifts.

She is preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her brother (Tiger) Craig N. Pfeifer, sister-in-law (Carolyne Cheruba) JP Pfeifer, niece, and nephew; (Josey) Joseanna C. and Joseph C. Pfeifer, as well as many close friends and extended family.

While a private service was held at Dettling Funeral Home, Houston TX on February 19th, an additional Memorial Reception will be held on March 14th, 2024 at 2pm in Alva Presbyterian Church, Alva, OK her long time residence; with the intention to Remember, Pray, Honor Her Life and Share Wonderful Memories of our Wonder Woman.
