China Christiaan Carter Thomas was born on November 12, 1980. On the 3rd day after her 41st birthday, Monday, November 15, 2021, at 5:11 pm, our beautiful China Christiaan Carter Thomas gently surrendered her breath and was born to Eternal Peace in Heaven.
China was a vibrant, loving and dedicated wife, mother, daughter and sister. Survivors include her dedicated and loving husband, Waddell Thomas; the loves of her life, her beloved sons, Cameron Isiah Smith and Larry Smith, III; beloved parents, Gregory Christopher Carter and Carolyn Waiters Carter; beloved brother, Christopher Gregory Carter; grandmothers, Kang Yop Waiters and Eartha Flemings Carter; mother-in-law, Emelda Thomas and brother-in-law, Patrick Baxter.
China is Nana and Auntie to Savannah Ray Carter and Ahsan Muhammad. She will also be lovingly missed and remembered by a host of adored and loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
China was a proud graduate of Edna Karr High School and attended Xavier University of Louisiana. She was President/CEO of Carter Smith & Associates, Director of Programs, Co-Founder of The Metamorphosis Project and Co-Owner and Chef extraordinaire of Shucks on Teche Seafood.
