last week…

so, we all know i had a bone scan last week. the 23rd to be exact. let me tell you how it went…

i worked all day tuesday, and you know, let the team know i would be out..blah blah blah. woke up the next day, laid in bed longer than usual since i didn’t have to be at the hospital til 10.

y’all, i still managed to be late. rushed through traffic, got to the parking lot and it was a whole mess. cars every where. no where to park. there was one valet so i just waited in line, gave him my key and ran in to check-in at the desk.

9:59 am.

one would think, whoo i made it.

my life is never that easy.

y’all. the woman kept asking me my name. i gave her my id and everything. then finally, she was like, “ma’am, i don’t have you down for today. your appointment is on the 23rd.” which, i knew so i’m still looking at her like, yeah, and. but…

Y’ALL. IT WAS THE 22ND. I WAS A WHOLE DAY EARLY.

so yeah, that happened.

all i can say is, chemo brain is real. lack of estrogen is also a big culprit. memory is shot. brain is foggy af. don’t be surprised when in the middle of conversations i lose my place. it’s super annoying and happens all the time now.

anywho. i had to grab my keys from the valet — thankfully he hadn’t parked it yet. and on the drive back home, call my boss and let everyone know my oopsie. poopsie.

also, i wasn’t about to waste an outfit.

the next day me and the same registrar were like this…

yup. it’s me. new day, same fit.

so let’s talk bone scan. not sure if you recall, but the bone scan is an all day, double appointment event. first appointment they inject you with some radioactive dye. then you have to wait a few hours while it moves through your system before the actual scan can take place. and the scan…this is the one that i don’t particularly care for. it doesn’t hurt or anything, but it’s as nerve-wrecking as the radiation. it gets sooooooooo close. i swear you can lick it if you stuck out your tongue. i took a picture for y’all so you wouldn’t think i was exaggerating.

see. ridiculously close. and it moves painstakingly sloooooow. like, at a sloth’s pace.

fast-forward to now. scan results are in. no progression. i can’t blame the pain on the cancer.

fin.
