so covid rules allow 1 visitor with you. of course that does not apply to my village. sal, momma, and micha came! momma and micha hung back, sal came with me into the office. we met my nurse liaison…this is the person who will be my main point of contact, you know, IF, i have cancer. we get to her office and the radiologist who did my biopsies came in and explained that yes, all three biopsies tested positive for cancer.
my type of breast cancer is hormone positive, so my estrogen and progesterone receptors are positive. now since i had a full hysterectomy and oophorectomy i have been wearing estrogen patches to stave off menopause. she told me to take that off now, and don’t put it back on. the estrogen patch was basically feeding my cancer. YAY /sarcasm
one test came back HER2 negative, which is good, but they are still waiting on the other one. it is assumed that because one is negative the other one will also be negative, but you know, still gonna wait on the test result to be sure. staging comes from oncologists, not radiologists so that wasn’t relayed to us yet.
i get shown a folder and speed walked through cancer. this is the team of doctors. this is the support group. this is all the stuff you need to think about. you can choose to get your care wherever you like, but we of course would love you to choose us et cetera. they were able to set me an appointment with an oncologist for tomorrow if i want to go.
i mean, of course i want to go. bundles are a thing for a reason. they are convenient as hell.
